Love then and now

In bed we fitted together once,
arm over, leg tucked in
snug like a litter of puppies

Then the bed needed to fit
the back, pillows the neck,
like cats with a favourite spot

Now fingers touch goodnight,
and toes kiss before freed
to roam the forests of the bed
